General description

Inlet and exhaust system are the two main systems of an engine. The inlet system is responsible for taking air into the combustion chamber. The exhaust system is responsible for exiting exhaust gasses through the exhaust valves. Mitsubishi Engines commonly use a turbocharged inlet system. For our smaller output engines below 100 kW also natural aspiration is used. For marine applications a water-cooled exhaust option is available, please contact your dealer.

The function is to prevent dirt and foreign materials to enter the engine combustion chamber. Pure clean air give's your engine the best performance.

Inlet system
The inlet system has to be airtight to ensure a good performance of the engine. Maintain your inlet system according to the service maintenance intervals.

Exhaust system
By installing a fully compatible exhaust system you will ensure the correct performance of your Mitsubishi engine. Please pay close attention to the emission regulations in your area. Various options for after-treatment systems are available, please contact your dealer.
