Mitsubishi & Partners

Best-practice solutions are created with Mitsubishi & Partners

Within the ‘Mitsubishi & Partners initiative, MTEE creates best-practice solutions with its partners. By combining Mitsubishi’s proven technologies with partner expertise, MTEE is able to offer its customers a wide range of engine; generator sets, and energy solutions, providing a quicker time to market, more innovation, and compliance with new (emissions) legislation and regulations.

A leading Portuguese company in the maritime industry – TechnoVeritas -  with over 30 years of engineering experience, is known for its expertise in energy optimization and technical solutions. The company is currently working on a retrofit kit that can convert existing diesel engines to run on a mix of diesel and hydrogen. This innovative solution is based on Mitsubishi's S6R engine. TecnoVeritas is responsible for the technology development and testing, while HyChem provides the hydrogen and necessary lab space. The alternator and the skid, which supports both the engine and alternator, are supplied by Progener, our Mitsubishi marine dealer in Spain.

A pioneer in emissions reduction technology, Emigreen has collaborated with Mitsubishi to develop advanced exhaust gas cleaning systems for the maritime industry. Emigreen is part of the Storm Group, which also includes Koedood. Combining Emigreen's expertise in exhaust gas cleaning with Mitsubishi's engineering strength, the partnership aims to reduce ship emissions and meet strict environmental standards. Together, we strive to reduce harmful emissions from ships, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future for the maritime sector.

In 2022, we started developing the hydrogen internal combustion engine as part of the Green Transport Delta Hydrogen project, an initiative by the Dutch government to run a ship engine on carbon-free fuel. The proven and reliable S6R engine is being used for this development. TNO is responsible for conducting the various tests while Koedood builds the generator. This project represents a significant step toward sustainable shipping and a future with zero emissions. The timeline below provides a more detailed overview of the various steps in the product development process.

In order to support Genset OEMs in the African region, we have developed the PowerPackPlus product range together with Linz. These products include a Mitsubishi Diesel Engine, radiator, and Linz Electric alternator, which allows OEMs to simplify their purchasing, logistics, customs clearance, and aftersales support processes. Linz Electric, a part of the Pedrollo Group and founded in 2002, specializes in designing, producing, and selling high-quality alternators and rotating machines that are recognized globally for their innovation, flexibility, and strong vertical integration in production processes.
