Fan and radiator

General description

Mitsubishi has three types of fan drives:
1) Directly driven by the gearbox
2) Indirect driven by an engine (belt driven)
3) Indirect driven by electrical motor
The fan is a powered part by the fan drive and is used to create airflow through the radiator. This transfers the heat from the cooling system to the air outside, therefore cooling the fluid, which cools down the engine itself.

Fan belt
V and Multi belt need special care for the belt tension and alignment. If both are kept in good condition your radiator will perform to its maximal cooling capacity.

Radiator
The radiator transfers the heat to the air outside. Keep the radiator core in good condition by periodic cleaning by (low pressurized) water. A clean radiator core reduces the chance of radiator core leakage and overheating your engine.
Fan
Keep the fan in good condition by checking for contamination and surface damage, as this can lead to an imbalance of the fan and damage the engine and/or radiator.
