Cooling system

General description

The cylinder head, pistons, cylinder liners, intake and exhaust valves are generally cooled by coolant and oil. The cooling system has two systems Low Temperature (LT) and High Temperature (HT).LT cooling system cools the compressed air from the turbocharger by an intercooler. Our medium speed range also uses the LT cooling water for controlling oil temperature by means of a thermostat.HT cooling water system is cooling combustion space and the oil cooler of the engine which is a closed-loop system this controls the engine water temperature by a thermostat.

Attention points

The LT and HT cooling water should be filled with a Long Life Coolant (LLC). Which is water with an inhibitor.

Coolant mix
By using the proper coolant mix you ensure a safe operation of the engine, reduce downtime and a prolonged life-span. Your service dealer can check the condition of the coolant if it is still fit for further use.

Thermostat
By taking temperatures you can check the proper function of the thermostat.

Coolant level
By checking and registering engine temperatures and coolant level you will ensure the adequate thermal condition of the engine and detect leakages at an early stage.
